- Description
All frames show pro abortion demonstrators walking across the lawns in front of Parliament bearing banners and placards. These include "Abortion a woman's choice"; "Abortion is a democratic right"; "Hands off the Clinic"; "No state-enforced motherhood"; "What about my conscience vote"; "Unwanted pregnancy or free contraceptives". Groups of Māori men and youths, including Black Power gang members, are seen in Parliament grounds watching the rally. Taken during the time Robert Muldoon was Prime Minister and Frank Gill was Minister of Health. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
