Description

All frames show people at a trade union protest march in 1976, relating to the Government's economic policies. The marchers, mostly men, include workers and union officials. Various placards and banners read: "NZ Engineers' Union"; "If blood be the price of their cursed wealth the God we've bought it fair"; "Save power, hibernate"; "Full wage order by June"; and, "No more wage fixing". They appear to be marching through the New town area. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
