"Stop the Tour 1976" protest in Wellington

- Description
All frames show protesters with placards against the 1976 rugby tour to South Africa in which the All Blacks finally toured with dark-skinned players as "honorary whites." Placards include "Don't patronise apartheid sport"; "Apartheid kills"; "Stop the tour"; "Outlaw apartheid rugby"; "Apartheid is oppression"; "End racist sport"; and "Blacks starve while whites play". A small girl is carrying her placard which reads "Stop white people being horrible to black people." Probably taken in the MacAlister Park and Adelaide Road area in Newtown. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
