"Stop the Tour 1976" protest in Wellington

All frames show protesters with placards against the 1976 rugby tour to South Africa in which the All Blacks finally toured with dark-skinned players as "honorary whites." Placards read "Sth Africa laughs at New Zealand race relations"; Reject racist rugby"; "Oppose apartheid, stop the tour" "Shame"; "Resist apartheid rugby"; "Foul play New Zealand"; and a HART placard. The location is probably MacAlister Park in Newtown. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
