- Description
All frames show punters at Trentham Racecourse, Upper Hutt, Wellington Region. Many of the images focus on Māori men and women, with the exception of frames 6 and 7 showing two older pākehā women wearing sunhats (one of whom is wearing a suit and pearls, the other is wearing a knee-length white coat over a dress.) Frames 1 to 3 show a group of Māori, all with form books. A kuia, wearing a headscarf tied under her chin and an astrakhan coat around her shoulders, is seen in frame 5. A woman and a young boy are sitting on the ground in frame 9, and several young people are relaxing against a concrete brick wall (frames 10 to 12.) Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
