Aftermath of the arrival of the Māori Land March into Wellington
- Date
- 1975
- Reference
- AW-1403
- Description
Most images show unidentified protesters in Parliament grounds after the ceremonies for the arrival of the Māori Land March in October 1975. In frames 1 and 2 a man (possibly Greg Whakataka-Brightwell) is talking to a group, possibly with a journalist beside him, using a loud speaker. Other views show people on the steps leading up to Parliament or in the grounds. Two kuia are sitting at the base of the Seddon statue in Parliament grounds with some of the demonstrators' tents in the background. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
