- Description
Most images show unidentified participants in Parliament Grounds at the ceremonies for the arrival of the Māori Land March (Te Roopu o te Matakite) in October 1975. An unidentified man wearing a korowai and bearing the Pou Whenua is seen in frames 1 and 2. In frame 3 Greg Whakataka-Brightwell is seen centre-left in the crowd, wearing a beret and with upraised hand (also in frame 4 only his head with beret visible in the crowd.) He is also seen wearing a hooded raincoat and shorts on the left of a speaker (frame 10). Rowley Habib (in foreground) and Tom Poata (behind him to the left) are seen in frame 8; Greg Whakataka-Brightwell, Tom Poata (and possibly Saana Murray) centre back amongst the crowd. A young unidentified Māori woman is seen in frames 5 and 6, carrying an umbrella, wearing a tipare (headband). Groups of police and Māori wardens are visible amongst the crowd.
