One mounted photographic print of a group of Māori men who attended Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, in 1897, taken by Henry Richard Gibbs, Kingsland Road, London. The image shows a group of Māori men dressed in military uniforms, posing in front of a brick building. Some of the men are standing, and some are seated.
The donor has stated that the information regarding the date for the photograph (on the annotations on the reverse of the item) may not be correct. He thinks that the photograph may have been taken 1902.
Inscriptions: Verso - "Maori Contg went to Diamond Jubille [sic] of Vicky in 1897. Most of them went on B W" (the Boer War/ South African War, 1899-1902).
