Description

Advertising card shows an inset circular illustration of a smiling young girl with a pink bow in her hair, holding a glass of milk. The circular inset partly obscures a bottle of pasteurised milk.

Date estimated to be in the 1920s. See a report in New Zealand Herald, 18 March 1922, page 10, where the idea of pasteurising municipal milk is discussed: "Mr. H. A. Ward, general manager of the [Wellington] municipal milk department, has returned from the United States more convinced than ever of the advisability of pasteurising milk before it reaches the city consumer. His report to the Milk Committee of the City Council states that pasteurising is compulsory in nearly all the large cities he visited, and practically universal throughout the United States ..."
