Scenes taken at various locations in Maidstone Mall, Upper Hutt, taken about the time it first opened in October 1974. Visitors include children carrying balloons. Visible shops include London Books and the Chalet Icecream Parlour. Full sized scales for public use seen in frame 9. A man and a woman are seen in frames 8 and 10; he is carrying their baby in a backpack. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
