"Recorded in Auckland, New Zealand in 2005. Originally released as a CDR in an edition of 120 on Tim Coster's Claudia imprint in 2006, this is literal beginning of Metal Rouge. By literal I mean that this recording was the first time we had ever played together. What you're hearing is raw edits of us playing together for the first time in the order that they happened, all captured in the beautiful cardboard mono un-fidelity of a built-in PC mic, which amazingly enough managed to capture the dank boxy fidelity of Auckland's Wine Cellar bar, where this was recorded after hours. You can hear the *exact moment* at which we knew we had a band 1 minute and 30 seconds into the third track. We both lean into the void and submit completely, something cracks open, conscious thought shuts down and we deliver something from beyond ourselves. 5-string guitar, prepared santur and a void that was meant to be"--File host.
