Description

Frames 1 to 8 show a huge crowd of members of various trade unions, and onlookers, at a protest during a 24 hour work stoppage called by the Trades Council. It affected journalists, printers, bus drivers, hotel workers, boilermakers, drivers, seamen and waterside workers. A line of policemen (wearing white helmets) is seen through the crowd in Molesworth Street in frames 4 and 5. Frames 9 to 11 show one man who is opposed to trade union strikes bearing a placard which reads "Right to strike, but right to work too. Unions stop bullying." Various placards are visible, including ""Who's running this country." [Information from internet: ].
