All frames show marchers and onlookers at a protest during a 24 hour work stoppage called by the Trades Council. It affected journalists, printers, bus drivers, hotel workers, boilermakers and drivers. Various placards read "Boilermakers Federation - Wellington Branch"; "We stand against fascism"; "Wellington teachers Students Assoc."; and "Take the dagger out Kirk." Views were taken along Willis Street and Lambton Quay with the marchers lead by trade union officials, all flanked by policemen. Frames 6 and 7 show placards waved by opponents standing on a verandah roof above the road which read " Wages or stoppages"; "Law & order or union rule?"; and "Compulsory unionism not on".
