Description

All frames show scenes taken in Lambton Quay in 1974. The first four show the sign and entrance for the Midland Restaurant outside the Midland Hotel. Frames 6,7,9 and 10 to 11 show the corner of Kirkcaldie and Stains department store, the sign on the top of the D.I.C. building, the James Cook Hotel in the centre distance and Challenge House on the right with McKenzie's and Farmer's shops on the ground floor. Frame 12 shows a hand-printed sign on a building which reads "HMS PAT VN240,442." Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
