Description

Mounted group portrait of theatre performers in costume and military orchestra. Taken by Royal Studios (Salisbury, England) between 1917 and 1919.

Gladys Wilkin is seated at the front, second on the right. Performer's costumes include ruff collars with men wearing checked pants and skull cups and women wearing white skirts. Orchestra members wear military uniforms and hold their instruments (including a double bass, flute, clarinet, violin, viola, and snare drum). A flag with an anchor and union jack hangs on the brick wall behind.
