View of the Aldermen Islands, from the south-east. Hutton writes: 'The right honourable court of Aldermen as the sailors have named them, are a curious number of little rocks standing by themselves in the road to Tauranga - there is a Mayor Island [drawing number] (62) also, but that is disdainful of the Aldermen and sits a long way off from them.'
