- Description
Images show scenes from the annual coronation hui held at Tūrangawaewae Marae, Ngaruawahia, taken in 1963 by Ans Westra. A number of people have been named at a later date by an unidentified attendee at the hui. They include Mihi Moore, Nanny Māta Wanakore and her mokopuna, Te Aue Tupaea, Ngatoho Kingi, Harata Tupaea and Werawera Hohua. Unless otherwise stated all persons are unidentified.
Images show scenes of people attending the annual coronation celebrations and include a group of kuia, two women singing with guitar, by a standard microphone. Another kuia is seated with a young child on her lap.
