Description

Programme with front cover design by James Ellis, lists the items in a pageant held to celebrate 300 years since the death of William Shakespeare. The musical prologue was performed by string orchestra and pianoforte under Mr Robert Parker. Other speakers included Sir John Findlay, Mr J M Clark. The pageant was arranged and staged under the direction of Mrs James Hannah, and the following actors were involved as Shakespearean characters: Vera Pegg, Mira Cawley, Mrs Sydney Tingey, Elsie Strickland, Iris Inglesby, Nancy & Marie Chalmers, Doris Symes, Mrs J Pearce, Mabel Gallichan, Lorna Chapman, Mimi Bell, Mrs Frank Blanford, Esther Hunter, Mavis King, Ethel Churchill, Flo Gow, Lilian Petrie, Beryl Townsend, Iris Trim, Dorothy Montgomery, Miss Carte, Janie Petrie, Fergus & Maurice Reeves, Mrs Maysmor, Byron Brown, Mr Sydney Tingey, Mrs P J Nathan, Betty Purdom, Hazel Hardwicke, Hazel Jeffery, Mary Cowley, Dorothy MacDowell, Una Edilson, Ngaire Lemmon, Betty Menard, Irene Marsh, Miss Hardinge-Maltby, Mr W Rowell, Mr L W Hanlon, Mr H Hiskins, Mr J R Butland, Mr Culford Bell, Cecil Dealy, Colin Trim, Pauline Brown, Zita Chapman, Norman Aitken, W W Craford, Marie Fix, Phipps Williams, S Laslett Exton.
