Photograph of the staff of Staples Brothers & Company Boot Factory outside the factory at 43A Cleveland Street, Brooklyn, Wellington, taken by an unidentified photographer.

The four Staples brothers, a sister and a cousin have been identified.

John Staples is standing underneath the Staples Bros sign and second cousin Will Staples is standing next to him. Marjory Staples is the last woman seated on the right of the image. William Staples is standing behind her with his arms crossed and a cigarette in his mouth. Arthur Staples is wearing a tie and is standing in the middle of the image behind a man wearing a tie and a waistcoat. Robert Staples is standing at the top of the image next to a man wearing a tie and below a young man wearing an apron.

The Staples family were identified by the donor on a copy of the image. The donor also noted that the photograph must have been taken before 1939, as John Staples died in a car crash in 1939. The company first appeared in the Wise's Post Office Directory in 1926.
