Queen Elizabeth opening Parliament, and visiting Wellington Hospital. Photographs taken in 1970 by Ans Westra. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified.
Images show her giving the speech from the throne at the opening of Parliament. She is accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Princess Anne. These images also show parliamentarians and other officials.
The second section shows Queen Elizabeth talking to two boys in the children's ward at Wellington Hospital where she is accompanied by unidentified senior nursing staff.
