Images show scenes at the entrance to and inside the whare waka (canoe house) at Turangawaewae, Ngaruawahia, taken in December 1963 by Ans Westra. Unless otherwise stated all persons are unidentified.
Images show men moving carved waka on cradles beside other stored whaka in the whare waka. One frame shows a boy looking at an exhibit in the Mahinarangi whare nui during the Festival of the Arts there.
