Images of Te Runa family at home near Ruatoria, where the story 'Washday at the Pa' originated, taken in 1963 by Ans Westra. Unless otherwise stated all persons are unidentified.
Some images show the Te Runa children outside the house and others show mother Animata Te Runa inside baking, while two of her children look on. Also shows Animata holding an infant.
Some of the images in the set AWM-0582 to AWM-0602 were published in 'Washday at the Pa'.

Animata Te Runa died at age 56 on 30 December 1980.
