Images show scenes from Ruatoria, taken in 1963 by Ans Westra. Unless otherwise stated all persons are unidentified.
Images show a truck parked in the main street, and interiors of a milk bar with children in front of a juke box, a girl with an icecream, a boy holding an iceblock, and a woman with young children in front of the icecream counter. Also shown is an interior of a draper's shop with a customer talking to a retailer behind the counter. Outside, a girl stands holding a newspaper parcel with the drapery furniture shop sign in the background. Female pupils in a cooking class at Ngata College are also included.
