Poster appealing for New Zealanders to contribute money to the National Savings Account shows the head and outstretched hands of a helmetted soldier with a lined and weary face. The words "We can't win with bare hands!" are written on a red diagonal strip through the centre of the poster.
Notes by Stephanie Gibson in "Display folk: Second World War posters at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa" (Tuhinga 19 (2008), page 19): "His helmet and age indicate that he is either a member of the Home Guard or the Emergency Precautions Scheme".
