Poster advertising a British circus on its tour to South Africa in 1964, shows a ship in mid-ocean. Its decks are crowded with circus animals, and aerialists and tightrope walkers perform on ropes slung from the masts. More animals poke their heads out from the portholes. Animals include elephants, camel, lions, tigers, giraffe, polar bears, chimpanzees, zebras, snakes, a llama and an alligator.
Note on verso indicates the tour was to South Africa. Dated 1964, the date at which the circus travelled there. The tour lasted for around three years. (Information retrieved 24 June 2015 from http://www.boswell.co.za/history/ )
