Transparency slides of railway accident and flooding taken by Douglas John Werren, circa 1950s and 1960s.
Four slides show the wreck of the Rotorua to Hamilton freight train that derailed at Pinedale, Waikato, on 5 Feb 1958.
Seventeen slides show flooding in Otorohanga and surrounding area during the Feb 1958 flood. Includes photographs of inundated houses and businesses (including Otorohanga Lime Works), bridges and floodwater, debris, submerged roads, and a car being towed out of the water by a tractor.
