Scenes from the Coronation hui at Turangawaewae Marae, Ngaruawahia, taken in 1962 by Ans Westra. Unless otherwise stated all persons are unidentified.
Images consist of:
- Frames 1-2 show Ngati Poneke welcoming (from left) Mr William Herewini, Controller of Maori Welfare, Hone Waititi (obsecured), Mr Robinson, Mayor of Auckland, his wife, Mrs Robinson and the Reverend Kapa.
- People sitting on the veranda of the meeting house, a trophy cup sits on a table.
- A group in traditional Maori clothing performing action songs.
- People in the crowd.
- A kuia standing outside.
