Comprises interviews with a randomly selected group of New Zealanders who reflect on the 1981 Springbok Tour of New Zealand. The interviews formed the basis of an academic research project to investigate the impact of the Tour on the country. Interviewees respond to a set of questions relating to their views and actions in 1981 and their opinions on the Tour now. Topics discussed include: personal stance on Tour; effect on social relationships; views on rugby; the mixture of politics and sport; the attitude of the New Zealand Rugby Union; the role of the Government and Prime Minister Muldoon; the actions of protesters; the role of the media; protest groups such as HART (Halt All Racist Tours); the role of the police and the Red Squad; race relations in New Zealand; impact on New Zealand.
