Reel 1, tracks 1 and 2: single adult males, territory calls; distance 3m; Ngamanu Sanctuary, Waikanae; weather fine cool calm. Stereo tape.

Track 1: answering taped calls; background mallard, chaffinch, cicada, silvereye; recorded 24 April 1985, 1605 hrs.

Track 2: in concealment giving calls; background silvereye, mallard, fantail, grey warbler, occasional plane; recorded 24 April 1985, 1645 hrs.

Reel 2: Adults, territory calls, hiding in vegetation; distance 3-10m; Pine Tree Swamp, Whangarei; weather fine calm; recorded Aug 1978, 1000 hrs. Mono tape.
