Adults. Four tracks:

Track 1: Territory call; locality Kapiti Island, vicinity of Red Whare, path to summit, mixed broadleaf forest; bird sitting in top of kamahi tree; distance 12m; some noise from seashore, saddleback calls, bellbird alarm, weka, slight handling noise; weather fine mild, no wind; recorded 1 Feb 1983, 1530 hrs.

Tracks 2-4 locality Maud Island, Pelorus Sound; garden lawns and vegetation around homestead.

Track 2: Territory calls; sitting in lacebark tree giving song (early in season so on a reduced scale and low volume); distance 10m; pigeon flies overhead (wing noise), blowflies pass; weather fine calm 12 deg; recorded 12 Aug 1983, 1535 hrs.

Track 3: Contact call to other flock members; sitting in kaikomako tree on edge of upper lawn; distance 6m; slight sea noise from below; weather fine calm 12 deg; recorded 12 Aug 1983, 1540 hrs.

Track 4: Contact and other communicating calls with rest of silvereye flock members; occasional short songs; sitting in kaikomako tree on edge of lawn and feeding on insects in tree; distance 5m; slight sea wash from beach below, boat passes island in distance, blowflies, sparrows; weather fine calm 14 deg; recorded 13 Aug 1983, 0900 hrs.
