Interviews with alluvial gold miners, engineers and geologists who have worked on the Reefton gold mines, West Coast of New Zealand. The interviews include discussion about formation of gold, geographcial and historical aspects of the area, exploration techniques, technology over time, specific mining experiences, environmental considerations, reclaimation and regeneration of forests, and mining companies, claims and regulations. Interviewees are Geoffrey Jacobs, Willian Johnston, Grant McAlpine, Desmond Rock, John Taylor, William Watts and Nichols Whetter and Lachlan Reynolds.
