Description

Born in Hawera 1948. Recalls childhood - describes family home, parents and sister, and early drawing studies. Talks of the 'art' in his childhood. Discusses influence of comic strips on his art - began drawing comic strips in primary school. Describes first comic strip he created.

Recalls playing in the Hawera Municipal Band - discusses interest in broadcasting and working in the programming department of the 2XP radio station in New Plymouth. Recalls New Plymouth Beach Restoration Scheme. Describes meeting his wife Glenda.

Discusses his photographic work - describes process of combining photos and comic strips. Discusses comic strip characters - Dioxin Man character as reaction to Ivon Watkins Dow chemical factory. Talks about development of Superhero Series in his art. Discusses new directions in his art - talks about new techniques and future plans.

Mentions Paul Hewson, John Turner, and William James Harding.
