Haare Williams interviews Rua Cooper as he and his whanau travel down the Waikato River and arrive at Tauranganui Marae. They talk about the river, Rua Cooper's birthplace, his working life, being a Maori warden and being advised not to be an All Black although he was selected as one.
Discusses the aspirations of Te Puea, land confiscations and the redevelopment of Tainui. Talks about the urban marae at Papakura, the Manukau Harbour, changes in fishing and water quality, the Te Maori exhibition and the Maori Queen Dame Te Arikinui Te Atairangikaahu.
