Anna Woods gives definitions of stereotyping and talks about her experiences of ageism, being an older lesbian. Relates health issues, involvement in the community, her social networks including the tramping club, her exercise and fitness. Talks of the skills she learnt as wife and mother and in caring for an injured partner. Relates how she is coping with arthritis, the maintenance of the section and replacement of household appliances. Describes how she mananges financially. Talks of safety and security concerns and discrimination. Describes men's behaviour, stereotyping and ageist descriptions of men and women in films and the media. Expresses her feminist position and gives advice to younger women about retirement and aging.
