Description

Jim Mitchelson was born 22 Jan 1912 in Auckland. Details his maternal and paternal families' association with Remuera for several generations. Grandson of Sir Edwin Mitchelson, Member of Parliament and Mayor of Auckland. Describes his 43 years with L D Nathan and Co Ltd in the Wine and Spirit Department (1929-1972), from assistant to manager. Discusses the Nathan family and other prominent personnel of the time. Talks about prohibition and the liquor trade.
