- Description
Miniature watercolours of a man and woman in profile, presumably husband and wife. The woman wears a black dress and a high, white bonnet with blue and yellow details. What can be seen of her hair is in ringlets. The man wears a high-collared shirt, and a dark overcoat with buttons; he sits on a chair, and has his left arm over the back of it. His hair is in the style of the early nineteenth century, with broad sideburns at the jawline
These unidentified figures were, according to the donor, relations of John Murrell, who was the grandfather of Charles Stanley Cooper's wife, Kathleen (née Bruce)
