Description

Colour transparencies of birdlife, sailing, and local scenes taken by James (Jim) Watt in Chile during the Totorore expedition and after Watt left the expedition to travel, circa Jul-Dec 1983.

Set contains images of birds including a male ringed kingfisher "martin pescador" at Pudeto, a flock of Magellanic penguins, and black vultures "jote". Also regatta images from Puerto Montt (including local "lanchas" and boat ['Contre Jour']), seaweed drying in Angelmo (Puerto Montt), sailing scene on board the 'Totorore' in the Corcovado Gulf, and views of various volcanos (including Corcovado, Calbuco, and Osorno). Set also features Santiago, including an unidentified [fortress?] site, and views from [Santa Lucia Hill?].

Inscriptions: Note from depositor reads: "Slide box labelled Santiago - also not totally true to label!".
