Description

Colour transparencies of birdlife, sailing, and local scenes taken by James (Jim) Watt in Chile during the Totorore expedition and following his departure from the expedition, circa 1983.

Slides of birds include a Peruvian pelican, great grebes and silvery grebes, a Magellanic penguin on its nest, a penguin swimming, a great white egret with plumes, flamingos at Hornopiren, a night flying heron in a tree, a hummingbird, and steamer ducks in flight. Yachting images include the 'Totorore' at Sotomo, moored with other yachts at Angelmo (with Volcan Calbuco in the background), near Volcan Corcovado, and on the water (with an unidentified crew member). Also contains three aeriel photographs taken from commercial passenger flight [Watt's return home?] showing Volcan Corcovado, Puerto Montt, and an unidentified island, and a single photograph of local boys beside an inflatible dinghy (Pudeto).

Inscriptions: Note from depositor reads: "Sequence from tray labelled Puerto Montt etc. Tray No 2"
