Description: Photographic prints showing a range of Calibration Flight aircraft taken between 1952 and 1991. Photographs are chiefly taken by unidentified photographers and while most photographs are taken in unindentified locations, some have been taken in Paraparaumu, Rangiroa, Niue and Penrhyn. Includes photographs of a Puss Moth 2K AJN and photographs that depict the opening of the Niue airfield. Contains a selection of aerial shots of unidentified airstrips. Includes photographs of a Mount Cook aircraft in the snow with Captain John Ford all pictured. Other - PAColl-10288-2-001 to PAColl-10288-2-006 were originally in a clear envelope marked "Cal Flight". PAColl-10288-2-007 and PAColl-10288-2-016 were originally found inside the front cover of the album PA1-q-1183. Show staff working at Calibration Flight, formal staff photographs and staff in less formal and in social occasions. Unidentified photographers and unindentified locations. Also includes photographs of Calibration Flight headquarters at Paraparaumu Airport. Prints of Calibration Flight crew greeting Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburch on their 1977 New Zealand visit, and of W.E. Rowling's 1974 visit. Contains photographs of Captain Ford, including several photographs of him as a young man before he started working for Calibration Flight. Includes of copy of a photograph signed by Charles Kingsford Smith. Copy prints of Captain John Ford as a young man are included. Other - The people on the right in PAColl-10288-3-75 have been identified as Roger and Shirley Sowry. Description: Photograph proof prints from 1960 to 1990 showing aircraft, staff, and headquarters of Calibration Flight, and aerial shots. Photographs of staff show them working at Calibration Flight and include formal staff photographs. Photographs are by unidentified photographers. Some photographs have been taken at Paraparaumu Airport, Niue, and some possibly in New Caledonia or Fiji, however most are of unidentified locations. Many of the images in the photographic proofs appear as prints in PAColl-10288-1, PAColl-10288-2 and PAColl-10288-3. Other - PAColl-10288-4-19 to PAColl-10822-4-31, and PAColl-10288-4-33 to PAColl-10288-4-47 were originally in an envelope marked "S.D.A. Calibration Flight proofs".
