Supporting materials for memoir written by John Toxopeus regarding his childhood in the Dutch East Indies at the time of the Japanese occupation during World War Two. Comprises a photograph of Toxopeus, scans of documents relating to his 1952 voyage from Rotterdam, Netherlands to New Zealand, including an image of the `S S Zuiderkruis,' and notes regarding the journey in English and Dutch. Also includes scans of two drawings by Jopie Toxopeus. One drawing shows a house, possibly in Sitobondo, East Java, and the other artwork depicts a bird wearing a backpack, which is leaving the nest. Text in Dutch below relates to the journey to New Zealand.
