Papers related to the Joseph Newman diary MSX-9263. Includes papers relating to Newman family papers acquired by the Alexander Turnbull Library in 1983, correspondence, clippings and inventories. Includes a typed transcript of a diary containing some nautical references and a description of travel around New Zealand from 1872, an inventory from the Turnbull Library of the William Newman papers MS-Papers-2507 and a finding aid for the Newman-Buttle family papers MS-Papers-0402.
Also includes copies of letters including one from Thomas Cook to Mr Newman, dated March 1881, and another letter from 1895 including a statement of arrears.
