Looking across early Auckland City and Victoria Park to Rangitoto Island in the distance. In the foreground, a woman and a girl sit on a park bench holding sun umbrellas. Two horses are grazing to the left of the painting, and in the middle distance the spires of two churches can be seen amongst other buildings, one of them possibly All Saints church, on Ponsonby Road
