Munday, Evelyn Mary, 1874-1950 :[Old house, Dallington, Christchurch]. 1917

Shows a 19th-century timber residence, possibly derelict. Three of the five windows visible appear to be boarded up, although one upstairs window retains its glass and curtains, and a downstairs window retains its lattice leadlight. The garden is quite overgrown, and is scattered with wildflowers. Three poplar trees can be seen around the house

Evelyn Munday exhibited with the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts between 1918 and 1928. In 1919 she exhibited 'Old house, Dallington' (exhibition catalogue no.248, p.35); in 1920 she exhibited 'Cottage Dallington' (no.229, p.35); in 1921 she exhibited 'Old house, Dallington' (no.147, p.21); and in 1922 she exhibited 'Deserted house at Dallington' (no.179, exhibition catalogue 1922; p.21) and 'Old house, Dallington' (no.203, p.23). She also exhibited 'Old house, Cashmere' in 1921 (no. 416, p.23)
