Description

Research digital photographs taken of "Album of Carte de Visite relating to Maori war in 1865 and portraits of numerous naval officers", held at the National Maritime Museum in England.

The name attributed to the man depicted in photograph "039 Moses" and "040 Moses" is based on the likely match to the person in PA2-0120. The man in PA2-0120 had been identified by a Library staff member as Mohi Te Ngu in 1995. The name "Moses" is a translation of "Mohi".

The name attributed to the man depicted in photographs "044 Morgan" and "116 Morgan" based on the likely match to the person in 1/4-022127-G. The man in 1/4-022127-G had been identified by a Library staff member as Mokena Kohere in 1998. The name "Mokena" is a translation of "Morgan".

The name attributed to the man depicted in photographs "016 Geo Grey" based on the likely match to the person in PA2-2121 who had been identified by a Library staff member as Sir George Grey in 1996.

The name attributed to the man depicted in photograph "055 Tomika" based on the likely match to the person in PAColl-7806-5-3 who had been identified by a Library staff member as Tomika Te Mutu in 2004.

The man in the photographs with file names "039 Moses" and "040 Moses" was identified in the Facial Recognition project results as a likely match to the man depicted and identified in photograph PA2-0120. The photograph with file name "044 Morgan" and "116 Morgan" was identified in the Facial Recognition project results as a likely match to the man depicted and identified in photograph 1/4-022127-G. The photograph with file name "016 Geo Grey" was identified in the Facial Recognition project results as a likely match to the man depicted and identified in photograph PA2-2121. The photograph with file name "055 Tomika" was identified in the Facial Recognition project results as a likely match to the man depicted and identified in photograph PAColl-7806-5-3.
