Description

Folder contains two typed transcripts (original and carbon copy) of Stichbury's 1915 World War One diary. Records daily entries for most of April and May. Describes training and travel to Lemnos in preparation of the landing at ANZAC Bay on 25 Apr 1915. Briefly recounts the landing and subsequent fighting. Remainder of transcript details fighting, rest, other duties and the weather conditions. Wounded in left arm by a bullet 8 May 1915. Left on a hospital ship `Braemar Castle' for Alexandria. Ends 15 May 1915 as Stichbury continues on from Alexandria to Malta for further hospital care.
