Shows a view over uneven hilly country, with farmhouse and developing garden at left, and further away the barracks [known as Gore Browne Barracks or Napier Barracks] on the headland summit of Bluff Hill (site of the 1967 hospital, at the end of Napier terace), below which is a camp of tents. A sailboat can be seen out on the water in the distance
The Sacred Heart Girl's College, Convent Street, stands on the site of the farmhouse shown. The Barracks were built for the 65th Regiment in 1858
