Description

Photograph related to the wreck of the ship 'Progress' taken for the Evening Post newspaper of Wellington, probably in 1931. The Progress was a coastal steamer which wrecked in a southerly gale onto rocks off Owhiro Bay, Wellington. Four lives were lost.

Source of descriptive information - From negative register and the Evening Post article 'A sea tragedy of five years ago', (issue 102, 1 May 1936), p 7. Image not seen.
