Description

Comprises one World War One soldier's diary documenting personal experiences of Dudley James Frederick Jeune from 01 January 1918 to 31 December 1918. Service number 41403, part of 13th battery, 3rd Brigade, New Zealand Field Artillery (NZFA). Covers sick leave with fever, camp life including at Etaples camp, shelling, leave, accounts of battle including the Battle of Passchendale and 2 September 1918, contracting flu and time at King George Hospital from 28 Oct, leave in London and an account of Armistice Day 11 November 1918, camp life in England post war and in France and Cologne, Germany. Diary includes addresses, lists, newspaper clipping in German language dated 16 August 1918 and two stamps.
