- Description
Full-frontal seated portrait of a Maori girl, probably in her teenage years. She wears a cotton wrap with red spots, similar to the 'tag' style cloak or korowai worn by Maori. Her earlobes are adorned with long ribbon, and her hair, which is brushed straight, is parted in the middle
On the verso is a pencil sketch, possibly a map, with the inscription 'and a native village near Wellington', possibly referring to Ngauranga
