Description

Poster showing a photograph of a stream flowing swiftly between rocks in the vicinity of Te Maketu or Peach Hill, at Ramarama, where there is a Maori Pa. Text at lower left gives information about the history of this pa, which was built by chief Noia of Te Waiohua in about 1740. In about 1869 a church was built there and priest Father James McDonald established a school in the church.
